Community Partnerships
The Y has a long history of working together with likeminded individuals and organizations that are committed to building a positive future for children and families in our community.
Partnerships enable the Y to deliver important programs to the community, particularly in the areas of child care, health promotion, disease prevention initiatives, youth outreach and employment.
Collaborations with health organizations and partnerships with local businesses have resulted in the development of the following Y programs:
The Coach Approach | Healthy Hearts | Prenatal Wellness | Healthy Choices

The Coach Approach® for Chronic Disease Management
Our YMCA-YWCA is proud to be working with the Interior Health Authority to bring The Coach Approach to adults in the early stages of chronic disease. The Coach Approach is a research-proven system that provides one-on-one behavior change counseling for participants to build the skills required to maintain regular and sustainable physical activity. This program is for those who have or are at risk of diabetes, heart disease, chronic kidney disease, lung disease or depression who are medically stable and have an interest in becoming physically active to prevent the progression of their disease. The Coach Approach meetings are offered at various locations in Kelowna & West Kelowna. To access this program contact Adriane at 250.808.7946 or along@ymca-ywca.com.
