Out of School Care

Our program includes a variety of fun, play-based educational programming such as: interactive play stations, literacy, science, building, drama, arts & crafts, daily 45 min of physical activity, including outdoor play, swimming and community out trips.

Before School Grades K – 6
6:30 – 8:30am, $25.50/week or $5.10/day
Located at the Kelowna Family Y.  The Y Van drops children off at the following schools: Pearson, Belgo, Rutland, South Rutland and Quigley Elementary.

After School Care Grades K – 6
2:30 – 6 pm, $71.50/week (includes early dismissals) or $14.30/day.
Program locations:
Belgo Elementary, 125 Adventure Rd
Black Mountain Elementary,  1650 Gallagher Rd
Quigley Elementary, 705 Kitch Rd. We provide part time, full time and drop-in based on availability. We pick up children from the following elementary schools: Ellison, Pearson, Rutland and South Rutland and provide care at Quigley Elementary.

BC Child Care Subsidy
As a parent, you may apply to the Ministry of Children and Family Development (Child Care Subsidy Centre) to see if you are eligible for assistance with your child care fees. The subsidy, determined through an application process and depending on your financial circumstances. As an enrolling parent, it is your responsibility to ensure that you apply for subsidy as the YMCA-YWCA cannot apply for this subsidy on your behalf. Full payment of the child care fee will be required until we are notified by the Child Care Subsidy Centre of your subsidy approval and you must pay any outstanding balance not covered by the subsidy to the YMCA-YWCA.

For further assistance the Kelowna Childcare Society located at #4- 1890 Ambrosi Rd can assist you with your application, please call 250 762 3536 between the hours of 9 am-4:30pm Monday through Friday.
